FOR THE FILLING
Beat 4 eggs with 1 teacup of sugar
Once you get a smooth cream, gradually add to it 1 teacup of flour, 1 tea spoon of baking powder and 1 teacup of ground walnuts. Mix everything thoroughly. The resulting mixture is your filling.
Coat the pan with cooking oil.
Place ½ of the pastry sheets.
Sprinkle with melted butter and then place the entire filling.
Put on the remaining pastry sheets and sprinkle again with melted butter.
Cut the baklava into squares with a sharp knife.
Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for 30-35 minutes depending on the specifics of your oven until golden brown. Wait until it is cooled.
Prepare the topping by boiling 2 teacups of sugar and 2 teacups of water in a saucepan until it thickens.
Pour the hot syrup over the baked and cooled baklava.
Allow to sit overnight.
